Hello, Eczema!

Summer is not technically my favorite season, though I did consider it to be for a while (because of my birthday, obvs). Don’t get me wrong—I love swimming and sunshine and the ocean and fireflies and late nights and thunderstorms and stunning sunsets and fresh garden veggies and a million smoothie bowls and ice cream for dinner. But I cannot stand the humidity. I’m not really a fan of the heat either, but the humidity is what really kills me. This summer, the weather has driven me especially crazy because my eczema has been acting up more than usual. Read More

Summer Dreamin’

Good news: I am still alive! Bad news: I am still not so great (re: pretty much the worst) at posting regularly, and summer always seem to make it worse. (How the heck is it the middle of July already?! Wasn’t it was just May or something? No? Whoops.) I’ve been going, going, going so much lately that the little down time I seem to have has been spent been binge-watching Friends or taking naps—which actually isn’t so different than the rest of the year. Begin Anywhere

Another month of 2017 is coming to a close. It’s hard to believe this year is nearly halfway over (seeing as it feels like it’s gone on for four years already), but here we are. Pack Yourself a Toothbrush Dear

My semester abroad in Ireland started off a little rough. I had an especially good time the previous semester when I was still at my university in New Hampshire—good roommates, good friends, good classes. And while I looked forward to going, I was apprehensive to leave. It was my first time out of the country by myself and I wasn’t all that great with big changes. I was struck by overwhelming homesickness the moment the plane landed. Read More

New Beginnings

Tuesday marked the third day of 2017. I wished a Happy New Year to one of the kids I look after, as it was the first time I had seen him since late December. He immediately told me that it was too late to say that anymore. We were already three days into the year. It wasn’t new anymore. Man, did that put me in my place! Read More

Farewell, 2016.

This is the time of year most perfect for celebrating friends, family, and life itself. I looked back at my New Year’s posts from this time last year, a goodbye to one year and a welcome to the next, and I’m surprised by my optimism. Even though I crossed a few things off my bucket list (!!!) and traveled the world, this year was nothing like I expected it would be. (I mean, did this year somehow just kick everyone’s ass or what?) Now, it is time to say farewell and move on to something, hopefully, better. Read More
